Halftime Notes
My week 2 notes for the Oakland Raiders’ pathetic first-half against the Denver Broncos.
- I have no idea what is going on.
- Josh McCown is not healthy enough to be on that field. Is Daunte Culpepper such a bad alternative to a banged-up McCown?
- What the hell is going on with the defense!!!??? Every single Bronco third-down is converted into a major gain for the Broncos.
- This defense is fast enough to run with any opposing Broncos player. This defense is strong enough to overpower any opposing Broncos player.
- What is going on!!?? Last week I thought the defensive players were too full of themselves to prepare enough for the first game of the season. Please not two weeks in a row.
- Kirk Morrison is the only player playing at the same high level as last year.
- In the first two games, Nnamdi Asomugha has been caught playing the player, and not the ball in almost every play his way this season.
- The offense has shown that they can move the ball, but the defense has shown they can’t stop anyone right now. This offense is not good enough to recover from any poor play from their defense.
To steal a quote from NFL (Arizona Cardinals) strength trainer Jon Lott; to the Raiders defense, “Get your freaking minds right!”
