Thanks for the response (and since I came to you, thanks for the lovely flash back to the 150 at Arrowhead).....I am really looking forward to your thoughts because I thought you guys were in a perfect spot to fix some holes....now I am just confused where you will go if you don't trade down

Dave,

Dominic Rhodes was suspended for the first 4 games of last season, and came into Week 5 not in game shape, and when he got into shape Justin Fargas was running like a beast (you remember when he ran for over 150 yards in Arrowhead last year), and the Raiders were 4th in the NFL in rushing. Then Rhodes started complaining about not getting enough reps. He’s more worried about his own production instead of how well the team is doing. Towards the end of the year (after Fargas got injured) he redeemed himself by running very well against the Chargers and Jaguars (two playoff teams). He makes his complaining even less relevant by saving the Raiders $1.25 mill by restructuring. But he’s still inconsistent and really not a featured back. Fargas will never survive without help, and Michael Bush’s health is still in great doubt. That’s why I think the Raiders can take McFadden with the 4th pick, but I don’t think that’s what’s going to happen.

You asked my thoughts on the 4th pick, but instead of writing anything here, your question prompts me to post a new mock draft in response. So I’ll post that up in the next hour or so. Feel free to comment then, because I think many people are going to disagree.

Don't kill me here - I am a Chiefs fan - again don't kill me....I was just curious why you still see McFadden as a possibility....What I got out of this move today is that you guys might have already worked out a trade to move down....I want the Chiefs to have DMAC fall to them so they can trade down, but as always it is now appearing to me that the Raiders will screw the Chiefs and beat them to the punch......You have fixed your RB situation.....somewhat fixed your DT situation (would you still draft a Dorsey/Ellis)......You don't need a QB (ryan).....I don't see any humanly way possible that Jake Long falls to you or the Chiefs.....would you take Gholston?......what are your thoughts on the #4 pick if you don't mind sharing with the enemy?
