Asomugha and Raiders await league’s approval of new contract

The Oakland Raiders and Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomuhga are awaiting the approval of the NFL before announcing that the best corner on planet has inked a new 6 year deal to remain in Silver and Black. This report comes from Jim Trotter at SI.com.

The deal will pay Nnamdi $26 million over the next two years and is rumored to have a clause that will allow Asomugha to opt out after the second season.

Those sounds you hear are both the sighs of relief from Raider fans worldwide and the angry pounding of keyboards as fans from every other NFL team type obscenities on message boards.

Sorry guys! In case you’re new to JBB, I stated two weeks ago that Nnamdi wasn’t going anywhere.

Given the dramatic turn around of the Miami Dolphins, the Arizona Cardinals reaching the Super Bowl and now the Raiders keeping two Pro Bowlers in the fold, it is safe to say that Satan is wearing a winter jacket down there. Raider Nation could care less about the temperature in Hades though, we’ll be more than happy to sport a #21 sweater in the playoffs next year.

You’ve had your fun haters, now comes the pain.
