You’ve seen the preseason schedule. You know the Raiders open the season on Monday Night against the Chargers and have a Thanksgiving date in Dallas.
Now, we finally have the Raiders’ 2009 regular season schedule.
The NFL has just released the 2009 regular season schedule.
The season begins with a 50th anniversary celebration of the AFL with a classic match up between the Raiders and Chargers. The Raiders get three divisional rivals to start the season With the Chargers and Broncos coming to Oakland in weeks 1 and 3, while the Raiders look make it three in a row in Kansas City with a trip to Arrowhead in week 2.
The Raiders have their bye in week 9 and conclude the season by playing 4 of their final 6 games on the road.
Head coach Tom Cable is fired up for the opener against San Diego.
“That’s perfect for us. That’s perfect”, Cable said at a press conference earlier today.
“That’s where it should be for us. We need that game. We need San Diego to come in here, we need to do it at night so everybody can watch us. We won the last two games we played in that mattered. It’s a great time for it. They’re a great football team. They’ll have Merriman back, they’ll have LT, everybody will be fresh and ready to go. It’s perfect for us. We need that right away.”
There will be plenty of analysis and speculation surrounding the schedule as the draft approaches. For now, get busy buying those tickets and booking those flights Raider Nation!
