On Friday, the Patriots worked out a quarterback not named Mike Vick. Cleo Lemon, as we reported Saturday, got the nod. But Lemon isn't getting a contract. Per a league source, the Patriots plan to sign former Raiders quarterback Andrew Walter instead. Walter will compete with Kevin O'Connell and Matt Gutierrez for the second spot on the depth chart, with the loser of the Walter-Gutierrez battle likely getting bounced. Last year, Gutierrez was cut prior to the regular season, but he was re-signed after starter Tom Brady landed on injured reserve. Andrew Walter may be headed to the Patriots.

Andrew Walter was plain awful as an NFL QB period. Walter will never be a starting QB in the league..Oakland has Bruce Gradkowski as clipboard carrier now and may become the RAIDERS NEW WHIPPING BOY..Walter was inept..SLOW & showed very little of being able to make a play..he couldn't even hand the ball off with out fucking up! Walter was reflection of the coaching carrousel the past few seasons..Al was grasping at straws when he drafted him in the first place.. This is no big loss in my opinion. He can go carry the clipboard somewhere else. Its not as if he will torch us for a 400 yard game any time in the future! So TB thats how Oakland rolls..along with the other 31 teams in the league..If you suck you stand on the sideline..if you really suck you get shown the door!
