It seems like he is trying to get his family and affairs in order. I am sure he will be a great addition to the Raiders once everything is resolved.

reasons to like this trade:

-Kudos to Al Davis for addressing an area of NEED.

-Seymour needs to tear it up or he dies a slow painful death in the NFL's version of Siberia, so he's motivated to go hard every snap.

- If you owned the Raiders, would you rather spend $3.7 mill on Richard Seymour, or $25 mill on the fastest guy at the combine with shitty hands ?

reasons to not like this trade:

- Assuming a new rookie salary cap is in place in 2011, that pick could be really valuable, with Richard Seymour long gone.

- If he still had game, one would assume the Pats would extend his contract and lock him up. I'm guessing he's on the decline.

- If I'm Al Davis, when my phone rings and the caller ID says "Pioli Scott", I let that bad boy go straight to voice mail.

First round pick??..why!!!???

Worst trade ever. If we were a "richard seymour" away from a championship then, Okay make the trade. But we need so much more. At least he's trying to help. But I think this trade hurt us, more than it helped us in the long run!
