I can't imagin Seymour would be as stupid as to just sit home and lose out on a huge payday .. Could he?....... And if he does we didn't even know about this trade a weekago so I'm still thinking we can still beat the Chargers... I don't think we saw the real Raider game plan in preseason... And wouldn't you all the media trashing would motivate the team?.... He may not like the Raiders but think about what New England did to him.. They showed no loyalty to him... never a better example of that saying ' it's a business'..

Great article. I was thinking the same thing. Why do we have to start the season with DRAMA again!?! When I heard about the trade I was pissed about what we gave up, but glad to be getting help on the D-Line. Now, who knows when he'll show up and when/if he does, is it just to collect a check. Man, to think we could've drafted Raji or Brace and saved ourselves all this trouble. I hope it works out because we still need the help.

If they put him on the reserve/left squad list is that basically like putting him on IR, lost for the season? In know it means his contract would belong to the Raiders next year but if they do list him and then strike a deal could he be activated?

Also, you would hope at least that the front office had the correct language in the trade that stipulated a reporting date to take the physical.

Bill,

Good point!

I wasn't saying the front office should have tampered before the trade was complete. But somewhere along the line there should have been a discussion between the two sides before it got to the point it is at now. Knowing he was in a contract year and he's a Pro-Bowl talent meant something was expected before his arrival in Oakland. I think Seymour should report but I do understand where he is coming from since Al Davis didn't hesitate to rip up DeAngelo Hall's contract last year. I'm sure Seymour wants to be assured that he won't move his family only to do the same thing again in 3 months.

Thanks for the comment!
