Video: Pigeon Leads Raiders to Victory Over Eagles

The maverick mind of Al Davis has done it again. Over the years, the iconic owner has always been unafraid to stray from the beaten path and carve his own niche.

Today, Davis upped the ante as he unleashed his newest finding on the NFL – a pigeon.

Some have classified the move by Davis as bird brained. Andy Reid said the newest Raider is just plain fowl. Tell that to Davis who sat in his nest, high above the action, with a bird’s eye view of his Oakland Raiders beating the heavily favored Philadelphia Eagles to the tune of 13-9 on Sunday.

Davis opted to only utilize the bird on kick coverage as the silver and black flier still must learn the playbook. JaMarcus Russell had no comment when asked about his feelings toward running the new Flying Rat offense.

This is not the first time Davis has sought to take the entire game of football vertical. Tom Cable chose to cut a parrot from the roster in training camp when it was revealed that Randy Hanson had trained the bird to spy on the coaching staff.

It’s meant in good fun, i for one, is stil bragging about our new “player”.
I know we still have our promblems but it sure is nice to have the win along wiht a little humor, however if it was me i would have caught the pigeon and had him as a good luck charm, just my superstitoius opinion.
