Chris Johnson channels his inner Seymour

After the Raiders turned the fantasy football world on its head with a dominating defensive victory over the Eagles, a wave of euphoria swept through the East Bay.

So caught up in the moment, Richard Seymour called his shot and proclaimed that the Silver and Black were playoff bound.

Two losses and another investigation of Tom Cable later, Seymour’s guarantee is worth its weight in Heyward-Bey touchdowns. Not that it is impossible for the Raiders to make the playoffs – or for DHB to eventually put 6 on the board – the odds just grow longer with each passing week.

Not one to leave his fellow defender alone on the island of optimism, cornerback Chris Johnson has offered his own take on the half-full cup of Raider football.

“If you really want to look at it, you can go 8-0 and you might end up 10-6,” Johnson said Wednesday. “There’s a possible way you can actually do it.”

Since there are indeed 8 games left on the schedule, Johnson is more than correct to assume the Raiders have a chance to win all 8.  With trips to Dallas, Pittsburgh and Denver on the docket, not to mention home dates against Cincinnati and Baltimore, the odds are long.

ProFootballTalk.com has all but said that the odds of the Raiders running the table are 1,000,000 to 1. So, PFT, you’re telling me there’s a chance.
