Louis Murphy is proving to be a big play receiver in his rookie season. The 4th round pick out of Florida announced himself to the NFL by being on the receiving end of a 4th down bomb from JaMarcus Russell on opening night.
On Sunday, he made sure the heartbroken fans that filled Heinz Field would never forget his name.
Murphy found the end zone twice against the Steelers. His second one was an 11-yard TD that gave the Raiders the lead once and for all, leaving only enough time for the Steelers to go Bon Jovi and live on a prayer for victory.
Those prayers went answered as Murphy’s two clutch grabs on the game winning drive proved to be the difference. His first catch was a jump ball, “who wants it more” style grab. His second was the game winner.
Of course, none of this would have been possible if Murph918 didn’t burn the Pittsburgh secondary for a 75-yard score to give the Raiders their first lead of the 4th quarter.
