I’ve been a die hard RAIDER fan since 1967, seen great players,great games,great coaching and great moves from Al Davis…..seen terrible players,terrible games,terrible coaching and terrible moves from Al Davis.
I agree we need a GM , you know, to kinda guide big Al along and pretty much leave the coaching to the coaches on the field. Russell and DHB are a bust. Do what Cable(and /or Al) did . Admit it ! Bundle the boys up and sit them down , put in the players who can and want to ……

Great point JSpicoli. Although I wont defend every single decision that Al makes, I do believe he is trying for the better of the team to make the necessary moves. I believe we should get a GM not because I think Al is “senile” or incompitent. I simply would like to try something that has worked before (Bruce Allen) and see where we can go. At the same time, I want to give Cable and this YOUNG team a chance to gel. Although we’ve been down for 6-7 years, people forget that THIS team is less than two years old. I feel Cable is doing his best to balance Al’s demands and his own ideas of where to take the team.

And to the writer of this article, Tom did say that Al gave him the option to bench Russell, so Tom didn’t necessarily go behind Al’s back on the decision.

Lastly, to those who aren’t happy to be Raider fans, I hear the chargers need some fans, maybe you should jump on that ship and see where they are in 2-5 years…
