Nnamdi Asomugha: “I’m a proud Oakland Raider”

Just to reassure us all, and to prove Jerry McDonald right, Nnamdi Asomugha told the San Francisco Chronicle that his desire to play with Darrelle Revis in New York was a joke and nothing more.

“I’m a proud Oakland Raider so you can erase any thoughts of me wanting to go somewhere else. If we can add some players from the Pro Bowl to the Raiders, then that would be great. In the meantime, let’s not make something out of nothing.”

Chalk all this up to the lull between the conference championships and the Super Bowl. Call it Pro-Bowl boredom. Just don’t call it tampering…oops…somebody jumped the gun on that story too.

(On a side note: Doesn’t it feel like the Luniz should be playing while Nnamdi was talking?)
