This week’s poll results are in and according to the readers of Just Blog Baby, Louis Murphy will emerge as Oakland’s top receiver this season.
Murphy beat out other contenders, Chaz Schilens and Darrius Heyward-Bey, by a comfortable margin.
This week’s question: “Who will step up and become the Raiders top receiver in 2010?”
The results are listed below:
Louis Murphy: 47%
Chaz Schilens: 27%
Darrius Heyward-Bey: 23%
A player not currently on the roster: 2%
Johnnie Lee Higgins: 1%
Murphy was my pick and I’m not surprised that he topped the voting but I am a little shocked that the second-year receiver won by such a wide margin.
I expected it to be much closer between Murphy and Schilens. Instead, Schilens barely held off Heyward-Bey for second place, which tells me a majority of Raider fans are expecting a bounce back season from last year’s top draft pick.
I still think Schilens could be in for a big season if he stays healthy and Jason Campbell plays well.
A few of you think the player that will be Oakland’s top receiver this year has yet to be signed. My guess is those voters expect the Raiders to sign Terrell Owens but I just don’t see that happening.
So Raider Nation has spoken. It’s quite clear the receiver a majority of you have the most faith in to become Oakland’s No. 1 receiver is Louis Murphy.
