Richard,

I think you make some good points. The trenches need to be addressed, for sure. Trading for Seymour, drafting McClain and Houston were supposed to be fixes but so far we're not seeing any improvement.

Why the Raiders continue to run Huff out there is a mystery. We've seen about all we're going to get from him. Enough is enough!

However, there is hope.

One Seabass miss and maybe getting ONE stop against Houston this season would look much different.

Either way, you are right that the essence of Raider football has always been the D and O line. It all starts there and right now it looks like this is going to be a long year unless something changes QUICK!

Obviously the entire D-Line and O-line must be replaced. On "D" Huff and Seymour should be given their walking papers. McClain and the so-called "linebackers" should be tarred and feathered and run out of town, as well as the rest of the cast-offs who are now starters. (We need not now wonder why the Patriots traded Seymour; he stinks too.) The O-line is sad and pathetic with almost all personnel there needing to be released, including Gallery.

We must remember that the cause of the Raiders' past greatness was the greatness of the players: compare Tatum and Atkinson to Huff and McClain; compare Super Mario and Gallery to Shell and Upshaw; compare Marcus Allen and Bo Jackson to McFadden and Bush; compare Sistrunk and Alzado to Henderson and Seymour. With these comparisons it is easy to know why the Raiders suck.

Finally the most important deficient element is a cognizant owner, Big AL, an Alzheimer stricken, drooling vegetable who needs to be put on and taken off the toilet. AL's achievements of the past are of no consequence. I would ask: what have you done for me lately?? Once Alzheimer AL expires and the Raiders recover from total dysfunction and an appalling lack of talent, it is possible they will regain greatness.

Until then there is no hope at all.
