Jason Campbell the Favorite to Start Sunday in Denver

As it stands, Tom Cable has yet to name his starting QB for this Sunday’s game in the Mile High City. But if you put him on the spot right now, he’d most likely say Jason Campbell.

With this Situation still looking like a game-time decision, Cable was as non-committal as any head coach would be after watching his incumbent starter set the bar lower than JaMarcus Russell ever could even on his worst day.

“I thought Jason was pretty close today so if it stays this way, I think (the starter) would be him. Again, (but) with no setbacks.”

Much to the chagrin of Raider Nation – who voted Kyle Boller the best option on JBB’s poll of the week – it looks like yet another chance for Campbell to prove he is Jim Plunkett 2.0 as Al Davis sees it.

Hopefully Cable and Hue Jackson will have Campbell back on the short leash as they did against St. Louis in week 2. Boller has yet to see any action in the regular season. With no timetable set for Bruce Gradkowski’s return, it would seem ideal to get Boller some reps sooner than later as he could well be the starter on Halloween one week from Sunday.
