CWoods,

Good to hear from you again. It's been a hot minute!

I like Gradkowski and have a lot of respect for him, for sure. without him last season could have been another Art Shell 2-14 special. But he's not the long term solution. Last week was about all you needed to know. When he has time to throw and actually has to make throws downfield when guys aren't wide open all by themselves, he just can't deliver.

JC has been up and down and he's made plenty of mistakes. But I think if he had the protection and time Bruce had last week it might have been a different game. What made Gradkowski so effective was that he could keep plays alive when protection broke down. But when you ask him to play in a structured system he just doesn't have what it takes.

In the NFL guys aren't always going to be wide open and you've got to take some risks. Go back and look at the throws JC made to Reece on that slant and DHB on his TD against Seattle. Two perfectly thrown balls, in traffic that gave the players the chance to make plays. I love Bruce, he makes quick decisions, doesn't hold the rock and is a scrapper but he doesn't have the total skill set necessary to be a Super Bowl QB. And that's what's all about!

This was the absolute worst news I could have possibly heard this year as a Raiders fan. Being from the Detroit area and following the Lions, I was happy to see J.T. O'Sullivan leave. He looked even worse than Drew Stanton who is now this week going to be starting for the kitty cats, and he's terrible. I don't know why people are getting so down on Gradkowski so quick... He hasn't even had a season to himself to be the starter. Jason Campbell is a good person for him to compete with and I thought Gradski would emerge as the dominant qb for the starting job early in the preseason. I hope Campbell can finish out the season strong because I know I do not want to watch a snap of Raiders football with Kyle Boller or O'Sullivan under center. I still believe in this year for the playoffs, Campbell better find his rhythm and Jacoby Ford will pull the magic out of wherever he keeps it. Go Raiders.
