The Blowbowl

The Pro Bowl was played on Sunday and it blows. The NFL is the most popular sport in the United States and this is what we have to look forward to? I began to watch the first half and felt like I was watching a practice walk through. I’m lucky, I have a DVR so I could forward through most of the game. I mean really, the Pro Bowl is so played out.  Running backs jogging between “D” linemen. Receivers with alligator arms afraid of getting hurt. To top it off, Zach Miller, in his first Pro Bowl, gets snubbed. Not a single catch.

In reality, no one wants to play in the Pro Bowl. That’s why you see the likes of Tom Brady and Nnamdi with injuries and opting out of the “most boring show on turf”. The whole thing needs to be revamped and changed. If it’s going to be at 75% speed, make it fun, a show. Make linemen line up as receivers and running backs. Make Peyton Manning play cornerback. Do a skills challenge the day before similar to the NBA. Do you remember when the quarterbacks used to have a passing contest for accuracy and distance? Put some flags on their hips and invite some past players like Bo Jackson or some celeb’s. Make it watchable! Or better yet, get rid of the Pro Bowl all together.

It’s important to recognize the best players … I say just do a skills competition like the old TV show “Superstars” ; imagine players hitting baseballs and shooting 3 pt shots, running an aobstacle course…as well as football skills … I think people would enjoy that.

I 100% agree. I remember saying to my friends as a kid, “Our quarterback has the strongest arm”. This was proven on T.V. it in the superstars competition. That’s entertainment
