Fear Oakland PD, Not Raider Fans in Black Hole

Ask any Raider Hater where they feel the least secure on a Sunday afternoon in the fall and without fail they’ll say the Black Hole. Ask said hater of all things Silver and Black why they fear for their lives in the most notorious section in sports and they’ll respond with some pejorative term for Raider fans.

Well, as it turns out it’s the Oakland Police Department you should fear, not Raider Nation.

Yesterday the City of Oakland agreed to pay over $400,000 in damages to a 49er fan whose arm was broken by a police officer during a preseason game almost three years ago.

So as not to disappoint all you haters out there, a fight did breakout in the Black Hole. The problem was the cops went after a man that had noting to do with the skirmish. To further the damage they then used “excessive force.”

Nice to know those Daryl Gates tactics have become standard operating procedure in both Northern and Southern California.

A truly painful case of wrong place wrong time for one unfortunate 9er fan. Yes, haters, go ahead with your “it’s always the wrong place for anybody not wearing silver and black in the hole”.

Let this be a lesson. You can go ahead and assume all those Raider Nation stereotypes are true, fact of the matter is many of them are based more in myth than reality. Now all that stuff you hear about Oakland PD on the other hand…yeah…that’s pretty much the real deal.

I already know that this has put me on the watch list in the East Bay. So for the record, fellas, when you’re writing my bogus ticket make sure you spell the last name with two L’s. Thanks!

Remember the Raiders-Niners game at The Stick about 8 yrs ago where Tim Brown caught the TD in overtime ?

Well, I got jacked-up by SFPD and was doing nothing wrong.

There was a little fight in my row, and I stood to let the cops in, cold sober, and one of the cops elbowed me in the stomach. Hard.

I followed him up the isle and asked in a very quiet calm voice to speak with his supervisor. He laughed and said “sure, I’ll tell him you took a swing at me, let’s go”

I went back to my seat shaking I was so mad.

My cousin’s husband ( a great guy ) is SFPD, I told him and he said “Sorry that happened. We hate Raiders fans; it’s a good thing you didnt talk to his supervisor, they woulda put you in a cage and smacked you around”

    Slam,

I have a friend who had an experience much like your own. The only thing I hate more than cops that abuse authority are cops that are sports fans who then abuse their authority on opposing fans. That’s just all kinds of lame.
