If Huff does not resign, I would like to see Tyvon Branch get a chance at FS. He definitely has the speed to cover sideline to sideline. He's a good tackler and shows no problem throwing his body at a bigger player (my only knock on Huff). Mike Mitchell should be ready to get starting time at SS as a second round pick. Love the intensity he plays with and the big hits he can deliver. We need that type of presence in the secondary. Two safeties that will hit with all they got. That's got to get in the heads of anyone in their vicinity. If Nnamdi re-signs, which I hope and think he will. This may be the best time to get those young guys acclimated to these positions with the veteran help at cornerback they'll be able to rely on.

Either way, we have some good young talent to watch develop. I don't mind taking a chance on any of those guys in the later rounds. I just don't see any second rounders worth taking a chance on with other positions in need like the OL. Even if Jimmy Smith falls. While fast for his size, 4.4s is not great speed for a man2man CB. Nnamdi ran in the 4.3s and Routt 4.2s. Playing man in the NFL is pretty difficult even if they did dominate at college. Until they are mentally prepared for the tendencies of teams play calling and routes during certain situations, physical ability doesn't mean much for being able to stick with a WR just as fast or faster.

I'm with you on Ware. He looks like a player, but got beat deep and that can't happen. McFadden got Eddie Royal'd by Bess, but he'll be fine in time too. I will never forget MeAngelo Hall's 8 games in the Silver and Black. Makes me respect the guys that do it well that much more. How do you play man coverage 10 yards off the LOS? A shame he and others considered him one of the best.
