So, I’m no legal expert. Aside from the various run-ins I’ve had with the law over the years, the few times I was either too high or bored to change the channel when Law & Order was on or the penal codes I’ve learned from hip hop artists, I know next to nothing of the legal code.
I’m just a caveman. Your modern labor laws frighten and confuse me.
One thing I do know is that when a judge gives an order those that don’t follow are usually punished. Except, of course, for politicians, actors, athletes and investment bankers.
Now that Judge Nelson has ordered the lockout to be over yesterday and just denied the league’s request for a stay on her ruling, doesn’t that mean the NFL has to open its doors and conduct business?
Yeah, yeah…I know there will be more legal motions and appeals and more insincere pleadings from Commissioner Goodell to the fans. But if the league continues to act as if they can go against court orders won’t they be in contempt?
Again, I know nothing of this stuff.
All I know is the greedy owners tried to flex their cash enhanced muscles in attempts to get more loot and got their hands smacked out of the cookie jar. Time for the bosses in the luxury boxes to learn from their employees on the field. Take the public loss. Sulk for a day or two and then get back in the office and get back to work.
Face it – your case had more holes in it than a porcupine’s poncho.
The NFL season is going to start tomorrow when the draft kicks off. Get over it!
