You can set your watch to a Darren McFadden injury. About the only thing holding Run DMC back from becoming an MVP candidate is injury. McFadden was a no-show at practice today and Steve Corkran got the dirt from Hue Jackson.
Jackson revealed that McFadden suffered a broken orbital bone on Wednesday and will be out for at least two weeks.
Combine McFadden’s broken eye socket with Jacoby Ford’s broken hand and mix in Michael Bush who has yet to sign his tender and you’ve got yourself a mini-camp crisis for the offense. We’re not even going to mention the fact that Zach Miller is now looking for property overlooking the Space Needle.
Hopefully this is not a Chaz Schilens type deal where two weeks becomes two months. McFadden is perhaps the most important player on the roster. Without Run DMC’s playmaking ability Oakland’s offense is DOA.
Not the worst news as the injury isn’t anything that will threaten his season but still it is yet another setback for Darren McFadden.
