Raiders to Roll into Denver Without Kevin Boss

Raider Nation is going to have to wait a little longer for the debut of Kevin Boss. The big tight end has been ruled out for the Monday Night opener in Denver due to the knee injury sustained in his only action as a Raider thus far.

In addition to Boss, the Raiders will be without Louis Murphy and Mike Mitchell but that’s nothing new. Neither Mitchell nor Murphy has been healthy enough to participate in any team activities in some time now.

Unless Brandon Myers magically blossoms into a Zach Miller clone, Boss is in no danger of losing reps once he’s back healthy. The same cannot be said for Murphy or Mitchell.

Murphy is in danger of sliding down the depth chart at receiver. Mitchell is just in danger of not playing at all with the way things are going. Of all the mysterious injuries of camp, Mitchell’s has been the one most shrouded in secrecy. Both Mitchell and Boss are suffering from knee ailments but Mitchell’s is serious enough that he’s been on crutches and has no timeline for return.
