Okay Nation, the game between the Oakland Raiders and the Buffalo Bills was crazy! There were four different lead changes in the 4th quarter alone. Talk about a pucker factor! I was so stressed out by the time the game was over that I needed to take a nap. (That could have been from the pizza and beer.)
We dominated the Bills all through the first half. I usually don’t talk too much garbage on Twitter but at the half I let it flow. And why wouldn’t I, we were up 21-3. They couldn’t do anything against our D. I was thinking, even if we come out cold, we are still up big on the lames!
True to my thoughts, we came out cold! Even frigid! I don’t know who these guys were that came out in Raider uniforms, but they were not the guys from the first half. We got spanked up and down the field. Ryan Fitzpatrick figured out that if are DB’s play 10 feet off the line, the slant will be there all day. He must have thrown like 25 slants in the second half. Our defense was in a zone scheme called “don’t cover those guys”. They performed that scheme to the tee.
Long story short, we lose in the last two minutes. Chris Johnson was destroyed by Stevie Johnson all day. It became a joke. Chris had one play to redeem himself at the end of the game with a pick to seal the game, didn’t happen. CJ got on Twitter later and apologized to the Raider Nation. I thought that was big of him.
I blame our lack luster D on Chuck Bresnahan! No freaking sacks Chuck! REALLY CHUCK!!!! How about a blitz package every once in a while. The reason we beat the Broncos was because we blitzed Orton so much, that he thought he was seeing Richard Seymour chasing him in his rear view mirror on the drive home. Zero sacks equals a thank you card from Fitz to Chuck B!
The bright spots were Darren McFadden, Jason Campbell, & Denarius Moore. Dmoe went off big time showing the world what he is all about. DMC had over 140 all purpose yards with two touchdowns. For me, Campbell was the top performer. He looked fantastic. He was cool under pressure throwing for over 300+ yards with three TD’s (one rushing). Derek Hagan even looked real good catching 6 passes for a 12+ yard per.
We didn’t use Marcel Reece enough in this game. He is our X factor. When he gets busy, the D coordinator from the other team begins to stress. Also Nick Miller needs to go. He tripped over two blades of grass and a cigarette butt every time he returned a ball. He needs to get rid of his new shoe sponsor “Butter Cleats”. (Not working real well in hot weather.)
All in all, the offense looked outstanding. As a team, we need to learn how to win again nation. We started taking baby steps last year and it felt good. Our D needs to close out games and we need to regain our winning spirit.
