Denarius Moore Bringing the Vertical Game Back to the Silver and Black

AUTHOR: | IN: Denarius Moore, Video | COMMENTS: None Yet

Raider Nation has been dying to see Denarius Moore do his thing. His training camp exploits were quickly becoming the stuff of urban legend. Each day the reports coming out of camp were of how amazing Moore was. Jason Campbell was comparing him to Jacoby Ford after one week of practice. When he was given the chance in the preseason Moore did well to live up to his legend. The 5th round pick out of Tennessee was looking like a real steal and a safe bet to contribute in meaningful ways once the regular season rolled around. After a listless [...]

Oakland Defense Bullied by Bills in Dramatic 38-35 Loss

AUTHOR: | IN: Recaps | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Today was a reminder of how much more building is necessary for Hue Jackson’s bully. A true bully does exactly what the Raiders did to day in the first half during today’s test in Buffalo. When you’re a bully in unfamiliar surroundings the best remedy is always to take the fight to the kid in his own crib. By jumping out to a 21-3 lead at the half Hue’s design was looking flawless. Then the bully did what bullies aren’t supposed to do – the Raiders letup their punishment and the Bills got comfortable. Too comfortable. Ryan Fitzpatrick starting linking [...]

Out of Bounds: 5 Quirky Questions for a Bills Blogger

AUTHOR: | IN: Out of Bounds | COMMENTS: None Yet

After last week’s 41-7 crushing of Kansas City the secret is out of the bag, the Bills are for real. Or could it be the Chiefs are just chumps? Somewhere in-between the truth can be found. More specifically, the truth will be found on the field. This Sunday the Oakland Raiders will roll into Orchard Park to put Buffalo to the test. Tommy Kelly has already reminded Ryan Fitzpatrick and company that the Raiders aren’t the Bills. He’ll be a big part of Oakland’s effort to bully dem’ Bills into defeat. In order to get prepared for the game we [...]

Charges Against Sebastian Janikowski “Not News” to Raiders

AUTHOR: | IN: Sebastian Janikowski | COMMENTS: None Yet

Just shy of one year ago Sebastian Janikowski was involved in an incident that has resulted in the record setting kicker being charged with misdemeanor battery and false imprisonment. While this is news to the general public it is nothing new to the Raiders or Jano for that matter. Raiders’ CEO Amy Trask said as much and Sebastian’s track record states the same. While it has been quiet on the Janikowski crime blotter for some years now his run-ins with the law were as legendary as his leg. First let’s talk about Trask who doesn’t seem to be too concerned [...]

Injuries Provide Opportunities for Raider Receivers

AUTHOR: | IN: Injury Reports | COMMENTS: None Yet

Slowly but surely the injuries are starting to pile up for Hue Jackson and the Oakland Raiders. No other position is being hit as hard as the receiver corps at the moment. We already knew Louis Murphy was going to be out this week and for the foreseeable future. But today we got word of a few other receivers that are either questionable or out for Sunday’s battle in Buffalo. Jacoby Ford didn’t practice all week and as a result has been ruled out for Sunday.  Now it might finally be Miller Time as Nick could see the first expanded [...]

Bully Dem’ Bills

AUTHOR: | IN: All-Pro, Commentary, Darren McFadden, NFL, Preview, Raiders, Roster, Schedule, Scouting Reports, Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

This weekend the Oakland Raiders face the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are coming off of a complete domination, annihilation, embarrassing spanking of the K.C. Chiefs. (Which was awesome!) The win was behind the outstanding play of the Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and his gigantic tight end Scott Chandler. Fitz put up some crazy touchdown numbers (4) and a measly 208 yard going 17-25. Fitz is the most under rated QB in the NFL and proves his critics wrong all the time. Good news for the nation is Cali grown Stevie Johnson did not practice today (Thursday). Why so serious Johnson [...]

Kevin Boss Back at Practice; Richard Seymour Still Out

AUTHOR: | IN: Injury Reports | COMMENTS: None Yet

Yesterday Kevin Boss took his first steps towards making his official debut in Silver and Black. Boss was back in practice for the first time in about three weeks since injuring his knee during the only action he’s seen as a Raider. While Boss is back Richard Seymour remains out. The Pro Bowl defender hasn’t practiced all week and is looking like an unsure bet to play Sunday in Buffalo. Same goes for Jacoby Ford and Michael Huff. Huff Daddy and Ford are nursing a hamstring and groin issue respectively. If Huff is unable to play Sunday then it looks [...]

Terrelle Pryor to Appeal Appalling Suspension Today

AUTHOR: | IN: Terrelle Pryor | COMMENTS: None Yet

After all of the speculation, misdirection and indecision Terrelle Pryor will finally get some face time with the NFL to appeal the ridiculous 5-game ban handed down by Roger Goodell. According to Jason La Canfora, Pryor is scheduled to make his case today. You already know the official JBB take on this felonious fiasco Goodell and his goons have created. If not you can read it here. If you want the CliffsNotes version then here it goes. The long and the short of it is the league took the wrong approach in this mess. By dragging their feet while ruling [...]

Jason Campbell Must Be More Than a Game Manager

AUTHOR: | IN: Jason Campbell | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Jason Campbell was good enough on Monday Night. He was good enough to beat the Broncos. That’s pretty much all that mattered for that contest. Going forward that likely won’t be the case. It’s no secret that the Raiders are a throwback team in the modern era. As the NFL overwhelmingly becomes a passing league, run-first teams like Oakland are becoming rarer than a 5-inch steak cooked for one minute on each side. But if the legs of Darren McFadden and Michael Bush can carry this team to just winning, baby, then who cares about style points? From here out [...]
