So, anytime the Raiders and Patriots get together it is next to impossible for there not to be some mention of that rule. I’ve made it all the way up until 24 hours before kickoff without talking about it once this week.
That was until Jamie Pacheco over at Musket Fire shot a few questions my way to give his readers a beat on Raider Nation’s feelings on all things Raider right now – including what happened back then.
I broke my long silence on the rule and you can read my answer to that question plus my thoughts on a few more things Raider related here. Jamie’s question caught me off guard but I soldiered through. Just like I’m expecting the Silver and Black to do tomorrow.
No matter what gets thrown in your path you’ve got to keep going about your business like nothing happened. The second you get thrown off by some Bartman moment you can lose sight of everything you’ve worked for.
That infamous night filled with snow and pain in the Northeast will never be erased. I’m forever haunted by that night. Still, the Raiders had a chance to win that one.
But here I go rambling on about that rule I never want to talk about.
Tomorrow the Raiders have a chance to show the world they’re the real deal. Or they could just expose the Pats as a real fraud. Time will tell. Naturally I want to just win, baby. But I’ll settle for a good game of football decided by the players only…
And I with that I’m done talking about the rule we do not speak of.
