With all the excitement amid tragedy around Raider Nation these days it was a pretty safe bet that Sunday was going to be yet another sellout. With Oakland sitting at 3-2 and the Cleveland Browns coming to town there is a lost of reason for optimism.
That being said, Sunday figured to be a packed house no matter what. The Raiders are planning on conducting tributes to Al Davis throughout the afternoon.
But just to make sure there were no empty seats Amy Trask extended an offer to season ticket holders that they could not be refused.
Jerry McDonald reports that season ticket holders were offered two additional free tickets as part of the “your guests are our guests” campaign to get the O.co Coliseum packed. Needless to say within 24 hours all of those freebee tickets were gone. As a result Trask had to have her staff send out another e-mail apologizing for the fact that none of the free allotment remained.
If in fact Sunday’s contest is sold out it will be the first time since ’08 that the Raiders have gone this far into the season without a local blackout.
