Another week and yet another Raider has been singled out for a weekly award. This time around it was Michael Bush’s turn to be praised. His 242 yards from scrimmage during the San Diego smack down were enough for Bush to be named AFC Offensive player of the week.
Congrats to Bush! He more than earned the honor.
Even without Darren McFadden the Oakland running game is an unstoppable as ever. While Bush might not be the homerun threat Run DMC is, he still brings the big play ability to the table.
In recent years the Raiders have boasted of one of the best running back combos in the league. Due to McFadden’s injury woes Bush has become a valuable asset to the franchise. But apparently not valuable enough for a long term deal. At least not yet.
The Raiders opted to tender a one-year deal to Bush who was ruled ineligible for unrestricted free agency due to his injury year as a rookie. After this season you’d have to think the Raiders will show Bush the money. But that is a topic for a much later date.
