There is an old saying that goes; you gotta crawl before you ball. Sometimes in life you’ve got to do that even if you were already balling. Just ask Darren McFadden.
In the middle of the best season of his pro football career, McFadden was revisited by his old nemesis. The injury bug took another bite out of Run DMC’s career just as he was leading the NFL in rushing.
Football, just like life, can be cruel.
Over a month has passed since McFadden has suited up for a game but today he finally took his first steps to getting back on the field. Today Run DMC was actually seen at practice. While he didn’t do much more than walk the perimeter he was able to do so without a walking boot. Not exactly earth shattering news but a sure sign of progress.
How much longer McFadden will remain out is yet to be determined. Most of the speculation has Run DMC’s return pegged for two weeks when the Raiders make the trip to Lambeau. We’ll have to wait and see.
Thus far Michael Bush has done more than enough to help ease the loss of McFadden. Safe to say Bush has guaranteed himself a nice pay raise come next season.
Back on the McFadden front it will be very interesting to see how he clicks with Carson Palmer once given the go ahead to fully ball again. For now we’ll just be satisfied with McFadden learning to crawl again.
