At this point Darren McFadden missing another practice isn’t news. When he finally does fully participate in a practice session there will be reason for discussion. For now it looks like there is not a Norv Turner’s chance of coaching a team to the Super Bowl that McFadden will play Sunday.
Beyond this week there is no way of knowing when we’ll ever see McFadden again this season. Some have already begun to quietly question if it is time to just shut him down for the rest of the year. After all, just how effective will Run DMC be after almost two months of total inactivity?
Again without their best weapon the Raiders will have to roll into Lambeau hoping Michael Bush and the rushing attack can recapture its form. That is about the only hope the Raiders have of ending Green Bay’s hot streak.
Carson Palmer isn’t going to best Aaron Rodgers without his full compliment of offensive arsenal. The good news for Palmer and the Raiders is that Chaz Schilens was back in practice today. However Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford are still out of action meaning they are highly unlikely to go as well.
The odds of beating the Packers in Lambeau are long. That is no secret. If the Raiders put forth an effort at all similar to what we saw last week in Miami then this could get Manning-less Colts versus Brees-led Saints ugly.
Hue Jackson has worked his fare share of miracles this year. However I’d say getting his team to beat the Pack is easily more manageable than getting McFadden healed in time for the playoff push.
