Greetings Raider Nation. Today we venture into the land of NFL perfection, the hallowed and historic Lambeau Field. We bring with us our rag-tag, pick-a-part Raiders team that has recently played with more heart than skill. (Because 80% of our “skill” players are injured.) We will be playing against the “pass happy” Green Bay Packers lead by Favre Jr. (I bet you couldn’t even name of the starting running back for the Packers?)
Today’s game will be the hardest assessment we faced all year. The Green Bay Packers are on fire and seem to be unstoppable. Here are a few keys to a possible win.
Run the ball!!!! We have to keep the ball at of the hands of number 12. Running the ball does three things; burns clock, controls the tempo, and keeps the ball out of Favre Jr’s hands. A 4th thing and probably the most important thing, it keeps our ramshackle defense off the field. They need all the rest and help they can get.
The Packers defense has been bit by the injury bug like ours. Charles Woodson (concussion, probable) and A.J. Hawk (calf, questionable) are both nursing injuries. Four of their line backers are listed on injury list as “out” or “limited”. That’s all good news for us!
Another formula to help us win would be to keep the yellow handkerchiefs in the zebra’s pocket. (We can’t beat ourselves.) We also need to get a little bit lucky on special teams. A turnover over or a run back for a touchdown would be helpful on special teams! I have a feeling will be riding Seabass’ bionic leg once again. Our defense needs to put crazy pressure on number 12 and get him out of his rhythm.
If we do all these things, the bullies will beat “team perfection” and leave their mark on the 2011 season as “team perfection slayers”!
