While Reggie McKenzie continues to clean house, Dennis Allen is busy adding more tenants to the coaching complex in Oakland.
Today the Raiders confirmed the hiring of two more assistants.
Johnny Holland has been added as the linebackers coach while Keith Burns has been named assistant special teams coach. It has been a busy week of coaching hires to say the least. Burns and Holland join a growing list if East Bay instructors as Allen rounds out his staff.
Holland brings a wealth of experience as both a coach and player to the Raiders. Most recently Holland was coaching up linebackers in Houston. He’s got an important job as Oakland’s linebackers have been very underwhelming lately.
Burns is yet another collegiate hire. That is becoming a theme with Allen as he recently went to Stanford for his defensive coordinator and San Jose State to find a quarterbacks coach. Burns is a life long college coach who brings 28 years of experience to Oakland. Most recently he coached the secondary at Ole Miss but was once a defensive coordinator for John Robinson at USC.
