Reggie McKenzie is done drafting but his job of building a team for 2012 is just getting underway. Currently he’s focused on the team’s backup plan at QB a task Hue Jackson and the Oakland brass failed miserably at last season.
CSN Bay Area reports that the Raiders will bring in Jim Sorgi for a tryout this week. This news comes just days after reports surfaced claiming Matt Leinart would be signed by the silver and black.
Sorgi was out of football for all of last season. When last he appeared on an NFL roster it was with the New York Giants in 2010. Unfortunately he never made it to the regular season after suffering a season ending shoulder injury in the preseason.
The former Wisconsin Badger is best known for his days of carrying clipboards for the Indianapolis Colts where he backed up current Broncos thrower Peyton Manning.
