Now let’s not kid ourselves. For most of these guys this, sadly, is where the dream ends. But you never know when an overlooked prospect will blossom into a full-fledged diamond in the rough. We’re not going to get too in depth on all of these guys but here are a few notes on some of the more intriguing prospects.
Derek Carrier – During our pre-draft prep JBB broke down this small college prospect with big time potential. At 6’3”/238 he’ll likely be an NFL tight end which is intriguing after his pro day performance that featured a 4.5-40 and 38” vertical.
Kaelin Burnett – Hybrid type of player Dennis Allen will be taking a long look at for his potential 3-4 packages. Raiders had Burnett on their radar prior to the draft.
Conroy Black – Very raw in regards to coverage skills but has blazing speed and tied for the PAC-12 lead in INTs last season.
Aaron Henry – One of the better safety prospects in the nation so a bit of a surprise he went undrafted. Keep an eye on Henry odds are he’ll make an NFL roster if he doesn’t stick in Oakland.
Chaz Powell – Yet another Penn State alum lands in Oakland. Powell actually played both receiver and cornerback in college.
