Sure, the offseason started months ago for the NFL but with free agency, the draft and OTAs it’s been an “offseason” in name only. The only thing “off” about this portion of the season are the suckers trying to sell the Chargers as Super Bowl contenders…again.
We know how this season will end for San Diego – some form of disappointment. There’s no drama in that.
The real drama is anticipating the start of training camp and the preseason games that come with it.
Tomorrow the Raiders will begin a mandatory three day mini-camp, the last such session before the official offseason commences. We’ll have a full five weeks of refreshing webpages in hopes of news and plenty of time to discuss topics that likely will be forgotten come August.
But that’s the beauty of pro football. The mere anticipation of its spectacle is enough to carry us through the barren terrain that is the offseason. We’re only days away from that period in time when baseball takes center stage, hogging every sports headline there is without any competition…other than the Olympic Games in London of course.
So, Raider Nation, fear not! JBB is here to help you across that desert that is the official NFL offseason. We’ll still be doing our thing dishing up non-stop Raiders news, opinions and everything else silver and black there is under the sun. Thanks for making us a part of your Raider diet and be sure to keep stopping by. We’ve got you covered.
