Richard Seymour Helps Oakland Families Have A Happy Thanksgiving

Mark J. Rebilas-US PRESSWIRE

Richard Seymour might be out of action for the Oakland Raiders on Sunday but on Thursday he was very much in action in Oakland.

On Thanksgiving Day Seymour and his family helped to distribute 150 meals he donated to Columbian Gardens Food Pantry an organization that feeds families five days a week in Oakland.

For Seymour it’s all about supporting the community that supports him and his team.

“Thanksgiving to me is very special. It’s one of my favorite holidays of the year. Just wanted to show my connection to the city of Oakland because Oakland has supported not only myself, but also the Oakland Raiders.”

The spirit of Thanksgiving is what makes it such a uniquely American holiday. For many it is a time to count blessings while for others it’s about spreading them. Seymour is truly blessed to have become such a great football player. But it’s his willingness to share his blessing with others that makes him a great human being.
