Nothing official from the Oakland Raiders yet but according to Rolando McClain’s Facebook page and the Tweets of a sports anchor in Alabama it’s all but academic that the troubled and underachieving middle linebacker has been sent packing.
Bay Area beat writers have yet to receive confirmation from the Raiders but given the events of today it is far from surprising.
What is surprising is that McClain made it this far into the Reggie McKenzie era. Many wondered whether or not McClain would even make it out of camp given the non-scholarship approach the new regime is taking. Perhaps wanting to give McClain the benefit of the doubt the team kept him around.
It didn’t take long until it became obvious McClain was a liability on the field thus his role was reduced with each passing weak.
Given the frank nature in which McClain expressed his feelings towards the franchise and desire to go elsewhere it would be within reason to think the only reason he’s still a Raider is the fact the waiver deadline has passed for the day.
