No Pro Bowl Love For Sebastian Janikowski

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

It only seems fitting that insult has been added to an already painful season of Raiders football. Last week Sebastian Janikowski received the fan’s nod for the AFC Pro Bowl roster. This week Jano got an official snub from the league as the players and coaches put Cleveland Browns kicker Phil Dawson on a plane to Hawaii after the season has ended.

Janikowski has been snubbed once again received a Pro Bowl snub. The fans wanted to see the greatest kicking show on Earth but their voice only counts for a third of the vote.

Never mind that Seabass is on the verge of completing yet another historic season. On the year Janikowski has just three misses in 34 attempts with not one of those miscues coming from within 49 yards.

That pretty much means the Raiders are almost guaranteed three points every time they cross midfield. In fact Janikowski has also been Oakland’s entire offense for two weeks running now. Not exactly something to brag about but it proves how consistent and clutch he’s been all year long.

Making matters worse is that no Raiders were named to the AFC squad. Both Janikowski and Marcel Reece are listed as alternates so there is a chance someone will rep the Silver and Black in Hawaii.

No Raiders player deserves to be in the Pro Bowl!!! This team was pathetic this year!!! I don’t know where this team will go from here, but it could only go up. Can it get any worse??? Brutal, how these guys make all that money and suck so bad makes me cringe!!! It is time to dump players, say good bye to Seymour, DHB, DMac, Tommy Kelly, and so many more. Again, it is a terrible time to be a Raiders fan. Please get rid of Knapp!!! Why they brought that retread back is beyond me, he could not get the job done before, what makes you think he could have been better this time around. No depth, so many positions to address, I can see this team going 4-12 again next year, brutal!!!

It’s not a snub if the guy who gets in the Pro Bowl had a much better season than you. How about we give some props to Mr. Dawson in Cleveland. The guy is having a ridiculous season. He’s perfect from beyond 50 yards and has only missed 1 field goal all year (which was a result of a partially blocked kick, so that wasn’t even his fault). Only 3 points separate the two players and Janikowski does have a ridiculous leg, but you can’t put the best looking horse in the race if the other horses run faster. CONGRATS TO PHIL DAWSON!

Im not sure Dawson is better. Sebastian Janikowski was the special teams player of the week twice this season. In his 34 attempts this year he has only missed three FG. One from 51 and 61 and 64 yards. Gus the mule would have a difficult time making those shots. Dawson has attempted 29 FG. He is a scoring weapon for the Browns. He has contributed to his team but not what Janikowski has for the Raiders. Both would be excellent picks.
