Reggie McKenzie Pulls Shrewd Move; Trades Down In First Round

All along it was looking like the best move Reggie McKenzie could make on draft day was to trade down from 3rd overall to acquire more picks. After keeps his cards close to the chest McKenzie finally showed his hand by making a move while the Raiders were on the clock.

McKenzie swapped first round picks with the Miami Dolphins as the Silver and Black fell back to the 12th spot in round one. In addition the trade netted Oakland a second round pick lost in the Carson Palmer trade. It’s almost as CP3 never happened. Almost…

Now all that remains is to see what McKenzie does with those picks acquired from Miami. No matter what though it was the best move he could have made.

Did they only get the second round pick for the third? Did you see what the bills got to trade down from 8 to 16? they got a haul of picks and the raiders got one?

Supply and demand. The demand was greater for the bills pick. Gotta take what you can get

hopefully floyd drops to us in the second that would be a steal. i doubt it. if not i think we will go for moore, werner, or an OT. a wildcard pick woul be skill position in ertz lacy or patterson. either way were in a good position.

Exactly. They wanted Hayden, and would have selected him third even without the second-round pick. Nice move with some good names still available tomorrow. Cornerback has suddenly become a position of strength potentially.
