So, the most beloved worst quarterback in NFL history has hit the open market. Today the New York Jets made official what has long been speculated by giving Tim Tebow his walking papers. All that remains now is for the former Florida Gator to clear waivers and some sucker other team giving him the chance to again do nothing other than watch from the sideline on Sundays.
Whatever Tebow magic there is left in the tank will likely never be seen again in the States. I think Canada would be an ideal setting for the gospel of Tebow to next spread.
Naturally the speculation on where Tebow will land has already begun even though his release it not yet official. And while Reggie McKenzie is surely willing to try anything to help improve his franchise inking Tebow would be a massive mistake and an even bigger waste of time.
Apparently Tebow is unwilling to play any position other than QB. With the Raiders already pot-committed to Matt Flynn not to mention the ensuing battle between Terrelle Pryor and Tyler Wilson on the horizon adding Tebow to the mix would only create unnecessary drama.
Now if Tebow were willing to try and adapt his skills to a position in which he’d better help his team then there might be something to talk about. But that seems as likely as Rex Ryan being employed in New York one year from now.
