One thing for sure, when a young rookie is headed into camp, they are always are looking for somebody to pick their brain from and to lean on for advice on the field and off the field.
Raiders first round pick D.J. Hayden will be grateful to have Charles Woodson to help him ease into the bright lights of the NFL.
Woodson, who is entering his 16th year in the league, has plenty of achievements and accolades to make him a viable candidate to become the mentor for Hayden. For starters, he has easily been one of the leagues top defensive backs since entering the league in 1998 with the Raiders. And we can not forget about him being an eight time pro bowler and Super Bowl champion.
It’s nice to see the Raiders filling in a hole at one of the safety spots, opposite of Tyvon Branch, but you have to imagine that another major key to signing Woodson was to hopefully help Hayden develop into another great Raider defensive back.
