Yesterday as Just Blog Baby closed its extensive 2013 minicamp coverage, we sent out a tweet for our second installment of our newFan Corner feature where we ask our loyal followers on twitter and our blog readers to give us their take on their favorite team. With mixed reports from camp last week, we were bound to get some interesting responses and what we saw was divided expectations from Raiders Nation heading into the six weeks before training camp.

Some took the negative route after bad reports on Day One and roster turnover in the offseason. With most around the league predicting the Raiders will once again miss the postseason, it is not surprising to get some negative responses when asking for fan expectations come the fall.

@JustBlogBaby too much emphasis placed on the 3 days of MC. The national media have the Raiders winning only 2 games-hoping for no wins.

Yet some disagreed with the negativity, buying into the positivity of Dennis Allen as well as a new attitude from an almost entirely new group of players for next season including veteran Charles Woodson, who has emerged as a leader in camp and seems to be focused on returning the team to the promised land. That positivity has fans thinking .500 or playoffs are a distinct possibility for the Raiders despite what the experts might project.

Playoffs! D will be awesome, offense will get it together and carry their weight… QB situation is not bad and will resolve itself. Someone will step up and finally bring this team back to glory! Raiders baby!

I think people will be pleasantly surprised with the Raiders productivity this year. The media is so biased it’s not even funny. Stop listening to those clowns and pay attention to the real facts people. We lost a bunch of overpaid bloated contract pre-Madonna players, and gained real NFL athletes who want to be on the Raiders and are hungry for success. Something we have not seen in years. One year overhaul the 49ers went from a below average team to Super Bowl contending team, same goes for the Colts to have the worst record in the league and yet made the playoffs last year. The Raiders are going to be explosive this season and contend for the playoffs from here on out. Look at the secondary and the new pieces put in place on the offense and defense. The defense is going to be stellar, pending the quarterback situation we could have a phenomenal offense this year once they’ve mastered the quarterback position and the playbook. Definitely looking forward to next season, go Raiders and shock the world,

I totally agree. Adding Woodson for veteran leadership while getting rid of guys who couldn’t give a damn about what it means to wear the Silver and Black will create instant life into the Raiders playoff chances going into this season.

If Pryor of Flynn can get it going the Raiders have as good of a chance as anyone in an AFC West where beyond the Broncos everyone is pretty evenly balanced.

I am one of the rare media members this minicamp that hasn’t been predicting a losing season yet. I know over at S&B Pride they have been talking about a 7-9 season being a success. I think this is a Raiders team that is built to compete and could very well reach 8-11 wins if everything goes right, but they still could finish under .500. But the negativity I notice going around shocks me, this is a positive step in the right direction finally.
