First off, let me set the record straight. The Raider Nation is the largest fan base in the entire world. The San Diego Chargers fan base pretty much starts and ends in San Diego, CA. There are some stragglers, but those are the stragglers that were with them in the Los Angeles Chargers era. Maybe if the Chargers moved to Los Angeles they might grow a larger fan base, but that is another doubtful claim. Plainly put, the only thing that Chargers fans have left to do is slam on the Oakland Raiders and their fans. I will say one good thing for the San Diego Chargers, they got rid of their Head Coach that couldn’t bring them any championships, Norv Turner. How many Super Bowl wins do the San Diego Chargers have anyway? Oh yes, none!
Now, Chargers fans and their blog sites and web sites are jumping on the NFL band wagon. A recent article that posted on Fansided, “Raider Nation: Nothing but a Third World Country” discussed how poorly the Oakland Raiders will do this year. Imagine that, Chargers fans believing that the Oakland Raiders will perform poorly. This is like a bad “B Movie” that keeps getting re-made over and over. With no Super Bowl wins, how can any team claim that they are better than the other. Although, the one thing that was true in the article was how poorly Phillip Rivers’ play has been in recent years. The cry baby of the NFL is just that, a cry baby. That’s all he will amount to be. Maybe the Chargers should think about starting Brad Sorensen, the quarterback they selected at the end of the 2013 NFL Draft, to take over for Rivers. Maybe, just maybe, the Chargers might have a chance to win at least 7 games this year.
Chargers fans want to slam on Darren McFadden and his ability to stay healthy. All the while, Ryan Matthews hasn’t been healthy since he entered the NFL. As a matter of fact, Matthews only had one season where he made it 14 games before injury (2011). The other two seasons (2010 and 2012) he was only able to play 12 games. The only “Third World Country” I see is Bolt Nation, or Chargers Haven, or what do you call yourselves again? Chargers, please, talk when you have something to talk about. I guarantee the Oakland Raiders will beat the Chargers this year. The Raiders are underestimated this year, and I can’t wait for the regular season to start. This team is being built the right way, and the Chargers are beginning their rebuilding process. That’s right Chargers fans, you are rebuilding with a totally new coaching staff. Phillip Rivers is not your savior, but please keep relying on him.
The Raider Nation is far from a third world country. We are our own Nation of loyal fans who understand our team. Every team goes through ups and downs. Sometimes the downs last longer than the ups, but the Raiders have Super Bowl Trophies in their long storied history. How many Super Bowl wins do the Chargers have again? That’s right, zero. The Raiders have also won more AFC West Division Championships and Conference Championships than the Chargers, but keep believing that the Chargers are better than the Raiders. Raider Nation knows that there is no contest. Even sports broadcaster and writer Peter King knows this. He was interviewed at Raiders training camp and stated, “The Raiders are an intriguing team with a lot of pieces that are going to be the foundation for the future.”
By all means Chargers fans, keep bringing the hate. All you have left is hate. At the end of the day, your team has been around as long as the Oakland Raiders, and they still haven’t won a championship. No offense, but this isn’t going to be the year of the Chargers either. As a matter of fact, I believe that the Chargers will be 4th in the AFC West and probably competing for the number one 2014 NFL Draft selection. Raider Nation is the best and all other fan bases can hate on us all they want. We will be triumphant again, and it all begins this year.
