Oakland Raiders Dynamic Safety Tandem

Raider Nation, the Oakland Raiders have one of the most dynamic safety tandems in the NFL.  As if you all didn’t already know that.  Between Charles Woodson and Tyvon Branch, I expect to see some prolific plays this year.  These two have had stellar careers in the NFL, and Branch has enjoyed all of his with the Raiders.  We, the Raider Nation, have had the distinct pleasure of watching both of these players grow into who they are now, and we get to see a lot more.

I have heard people say that Charles Woodson needs a walker to get around.  Folks, he will be causing opposing players to have to use canes and wheel chairs when he gets done with them.  Branch has always been a mean hitter, reminiscent of the great Ronnie Lott.  Both these players will be roaming in the Raiders backfield just waiting for their chance to clobber some unsuspecting receiver or runner.  They will be poised to blitz and sack the quarterback.  A lot of route jumping is going to be happening with numerous interceptions attributed to our secondary.

Seeing is believing, and watching Woodson and Branch performing at Raiders training camp was awesome to say the least.  They were bouncing around, disguising their coverage, blitzing from the edge, and jumping pass routes.  They were pushing the Raiders receivers to work harder than they have had to work in the past.  Woodson and Branch remind me a lot of past players like George Atkinson and Jack Tatum.  Together these players are going to inflict a lot of pain upon opposing offenses.  They will make quarterbacks question their throws and second guess themselves.

One play yesterday I was watching our db’s and I thought Woodson’s going to get burnt. At that same moment wood saw what was going on and was able to be there to meet the ball. : ). Thanks for the training camp tips.
