Fan Corner: Reaction to the Raiders 34-26 Loss to Chicago and the Matt Flynn/Terrelle Pryor QB Battle

Oakland had another let down of a first half in the 2013 Preseason, this time losing the first string time 27-3 as Matt Flynn once again couldn’t get things going in the pocket with the Raiders weak offensive line. Unlike the previous week against the Saints, Flynn couldn’t piece together a touchdown drive and the rest of the first string couldn’t do much either as Jay Cutler and the Bears offense had no problems putting points on the board.

After the game we asked the Raider Nation on twitter how they felt about the game, these are their responses.

As much as I hate to say this ( I met Flynn a few weeks ago and he is a real nice guy who is really glad to be a Raider ). With are offensive line so weak we are going to need Pryor’s speed in the Q B position to stand a chance this year. Simple put Pryor puts us in a better position to win.

We would have won that game if T.P would have stayed in the whole game. He was able to score on almost all his drives. Im convinced— he has ended the Jamarcus Russell curse and we have found our qb!

McKenzie needs to contact the JETS immediately & make a deal for Matt Flynn! Even if its just for future draft picks. Pryor should be our guy, and I don’t see why we keep Flynn on the books if McGloin can be an adequate back up to Pryor. Then we could keep the Wilson project going until next training camp. This would erase a couple mistakes McKenzie & Allen made this off season. I’m not against Flynn, but if we can’t provide the protection he requires to be a pocket passing QB, why keep him??? This is rebuilding at its finest! MARK DAVIS; TERRELL PRYOR WAS YOUR FATHERS LAST PICK, AND SHOULD PLAY AS THE RAIDERS STATRING QB THIS YEAR. GIVE HIM THIS ENTIRE SEASON TO WORK ON BEING BETTER FOR NEXT YEAR WHEN WE SHOULD BE MORE OF COMPETITIVE TEAM!

They never should have taded picks for Flynn. They should have just went with Pryor from the get go & let him pass or fail. If they start Flynn that means they will be tanking the season for the #1 pick next year. If they start Pryor than they truly do want to win games.
