Warren Moon went on San Francisco radio station 95.7 The Game on Monday morning and given his connection to Russell Wilson and Matt Flynn from being around the Seattle Seahawks organization, the conversation naturally delved into the Terrelle Pryor/Flynn quarterback controversy unfolding as the Raiders head into Week One.
Moon, who is a big Russell Wilson guy, put it straight forward by claiming that Matt Flynn is losing the jobs teams are grooming him for because of his lack of work ethic and laid back attitude.
Warren Moon on Matt Flynn: “Matt was more of a laid back guy, he wasn’t a guy that was going to stay around the facility all day & work…”

Moon has a lot of first hand experience in evaluating Flynn from the 2012 Seahawks Training Camp and preseason, and the trend that we saw there seems to be playing out in Oakland as we head into Thursday’s preseason finale against the very same Seahawks. It is very likely Moon is right as Flynn has put it on record this offseason that he isn’t like Russell Wilson in the respect that he is a laid back individual, something that also might translate to offseason training and the extra work that it takes to become an NFL starter, especially when you are already starting off without a rocket arm.
On the opposite hand it appears that Pryor put in the work this offseason and in the Raiders practices, working with Tom Brady’s old throwing coach and looking leaps and bounds better in the pocket than when he first entered the league. It was a matter of time before someone brought up work ethic in this debate between Flynn and Pryor, but the claims are even more credible given the fact that Moon knows Flynn very well. Could a repeat of what happened to Flynn in Seattle be unfolding once again in Oakland? With the way things are coming out this week it is getting me and more likely.
