Twitter has quickly became the home to get insider information on NFL cut day. Matt McGloin’s tweet earlier this afternoon confirmed his status on Oakland’s 53 man roster and Reggie Smith’s tweet confirmed his exit. Now the twitter of Tyler Wilson seems to have confirmed that Oakland will use four spots on their 53 man roster for the quarterback position with the fourth round pick out of Arkansas tweeting that he is excited to get to work in Oakland.
Thanks for all the messages. Excited to be here in Oakland, prep for the regular season. Congrats to the Hogs on the win today!! #Raiders

Wilson staying would obviously mean the Raiders would be keeping four quarterbacks with Matt McGloin already confirming that he will be amongst the 53 names on the final roster. It is unlikely that projected 1/2 quarterbacks Matt Flynn and Terrelle Pryor will be cut so it looks like Wilson’s upside and status as a fourth round pick was far too valuable to risk on the waiver wire.
Wilson also performed admirably in the Raiders final preseason game against the Seahawks, a performance that cemented his spot on the team after battling with Matt McGloin all preseason long for the third string gig as the Raiders have been blessed with two very promising young rookie quarterbacks this year. How the roster has been constructed to allot four quarterbacks is yet to be known, but we should have far more answers within the hour when the full 53 man roster is released.
