Oakland Raiders Throwback Thursday: Richard Seymour punches Ben Roethlisberger in the mouth

With the Raiders playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday it is only fitting that we revisit the greatest recent moment of the storied Raiders-Steelers rivalry.

Big Ben knows better than to mess with Richard Seymour. Ps: Reggie, get in touch with Richard’s people for a ten day contract. Make it happen.

Can you explain to me how Ben Roethlisberger trying to congratulate Ramon Foster after a touchdown pass is “messing” with Richard Seymour?

  • Bob

We live vicariously through Big Dick punching Big Ben in the face as it is something we would all like to do.

  • Dom DiTolla

I guess I’d be pissed too if I was a fan of a franchise that passed on a quarterback of Roethlisberger’s caliber for an overrated Big Ten offensive lineman with T-Rex arms. :)

  • Bob

I’m talking about his “off filed” activities.

  • Dom DiTolla

Ah yes, because no Raiders ever got into trouble off the “field.” Last time I checked, no charges were filed against Roethlisberger. It doesn’t excuse “Big Ben’s” behavior, but Seymour acted like a petulant child after that play. That was bush league garbage.

  • Bob

Then why was he suspended four games? I support players being suspended and spending time in jail if they break laws. I don’t care if they take a team to a Superbowl or not. I guess that is the i difference between you and me.

  • Dom DiTolla

I guess I would try to live vicariously through thuggish and ridiculous behavior too if I rooted for the Raiders though. Not too much winning that has gone on over there for the last decade. I’m sure you’d be singing a different tune if he played in Oakland. Of course, Robert Gallery turned out to be a much better choice over “Big Ben,” Larry Fitzgerald, Sean Taylor, Philip Rivers, etc.. :)

By the way, Roethlisberger was suspended by Goodell to make an example, not for committing any actual crime. Didn’t seem to faze him much, especially since he quarterbacked the team to an AFC title that year.
