NFL Week 8 Betting Preview

Each week Just Blog Baby editor Chase Ruttig gives his picks against the spread for Sunday’s NFL games. Here are his selections. Home team in CAPS, lines provided by Bet365.

49ers (-15) over Jags (London)

I like the Niners putting numbers on the board in London and putting on a show at the expense of the lowly Jaguars.

LIONS (-3) over Cowboys

Both these teams are really similar in the sense that they have a quarterback-receiver pairing that can put up a ton of points fast and mediocre defenses that force them to rely on that passing attack more than they should have to. I am leaning towards the Lions because they are at home and have just a slightly better team than the Cowboys at this point.

Giants (+5) over EAGLES

Both these teams suck. I am going to call an upset here to make things interesting, but it is risky to put your money on either of these two teams this season.

CHIEFS (-7) over Browns

I hate doing this because the Chiefs offense just begs bad teams to stay in games, but the Browns are bad enough to get blown out of Arrowhead even with their strong defense. The Chiefs D will have a field day in a blowout.

SAINTS (-10.5) over Bills

PATS (-6) over Dolphins

Two teams coming off tough AFC East losses. I think I like Tom Brady a bit more than Ryan Tannehill in this spot. Just saying.

JETS (+5.5) over Bengals

Riding the Geno Smith express this week. On the bandwagon.

RAIDERS (+2.5) over Steelers

Was going to grab this when it was much higher during the week. Take the much better moneyline odds on this once, I am predicting a Raiders win with a much better offensive line unit after the bye.

BRONCOS (-10.5) over Washington Racists

Peyton Manning is going to shred this defense to pay for the sins of Andrew Luck.

CARDS (-2.5) over Falcons

I smell a #DecentCarsonPalmerGame in the mix here.

Packers (-7) over VIKINGS

Who let the Vikings on national television two weeks in a row? Give me their job right now.
