Each Sunday JBB editor and avid gambler Chase Ruttig swallows the bullet and gives his NFL picks against the spread. Here are his Week 9 selections
Lines from Bet365. Home team in CAPS.
Falcons over PANTHERS (-8)
Atlanta is reeling with injuries, but one touchdown is just too high of a line for me to take Carolina in a division game.
COWBOYS (-9) over Vikings
Adrian Peterson still remains hard to bet against, but at home the Cowboys should take care of a pathetic Vikings team in a must win game for Dallas. Check the over for Dez Bryant receiving yards if you like prop bets.
Saints (-6) over JETS
In the Ryan Bowl the Saints will be in a different class than the Geno Smith led Jets, who won’t have the advantage of playing a banged up team like in their upset win over the Patriots.
Titans (-3) over RAMS
Monday Night Football was a nice moment for St. Louis, but now they are going to be broken down by game film and are going to have to deal with the short practice week. I like the Titans chances in this spot even on the road.
Chiefs (-4.5) over BILLS
They have to lose eventually, it just won’t be during Tuel Time. Chiefs win and cover.
WASHINGTON CHANGE THE NAMES over Chargers (Pick ‘EM)
RGIII won’t be facing Von Miller today, in fact he will be facing the opposite in the Chargers defense which is really missing Dwight Freeney. Washington wins at home.
RAIDERS (-1) over Eagles
Philly just doesn’t have the continuity at quarterback to break their scoring slump against the underrated Raiders defense which is rolling thanks to coordinator Jason Tarver. I will take the one point spread even though it is a trap game.
SEAHAWKS (-14.5) over Bucs
BROWNS (-1) over Ravens (Upset Pick of the Week) I
I know it is a post-bye game for the Ravens, but I love some Jason Campbell. He will be even more comfortable at home playing against a defense that just isn’t as potent as Kansas City’s (Did I just say that? I need a drink)
PATS (-6) over Steelers
The Steelers are done, they should be planning on bottoming out at this point for some high draft picks. Playing the Pats this week that shouldn’t be a problem.
Colts (-1) over TEXANS
Case Keenum has been impressing me and I think he is a potential future starting quarterback in the NFL, but he is no Andrew Luck. Colts continue their rise into becoming an AFC favorite with a big win on Sunday Night Football.
