The Raiders once again find themselves at 3-5 after 8 games, coming off a defeat at home. Unlike last year, where they lost in the final minutes to Tampa Bay, this last loss to Philadelphia was never in doubt. The Raiders defense did manage to give up another record performance to an opposing offensive player. Although you didn’t expect it from this years vastly improved unit.
The Quarterback’s name has changed but he’s still a turnover machine and it’s killing them. Turnovers are the single most important stat in the NFL and Terrelle Pryor has 9 interceptions in his 7 starts. Some have come off the hands of his receivers, but they are not bouncing off their chest, they are inaccurate passes. Pryor has to eliminate the turnovers if the Raiders are going to win any more games this season.
The Raiders got their first win in 10 years, in a game coming out of their bye week this year. Darren McFadden once again will never have played in all 16 games in a season. The Raiders travel to the East Coast next week, can they snap their losing streak in that time zone?
The defining moment of this 2013 season is coming next week in New York against the Giants. Coming off the beat down the Eagles game them, we will see the true character of this team. In previous years, a game like that would be followed by a few more just like it. They followed up a shellacking at Denver with getting Flynned at home against Washington. How they bounce back next week against the Giants is all that matters mid way thru this 2013 season.
